Christmas Eve Supper Celebration
Tis the season! Come celebrate with us as we commence our first annual Christmas Eve Supper this December 24th.
Chef Katherine has prepared a delectable and authentic Catholic holiday feast for all to enjoy. We’ll start the meal with a classic soup, probably borscht with “uszka” (mushroom tortellini), the first of twelve dishes! The main dish will of course be fish. There will be many amazing non-meat variations of real, good food. All made from scratch. Make sure to come hungry after fasting the day before for a truly incredible culinary experience!
We will kick off our Christmas Eve dinner by saying grace. We will then break the “opłatek” (Christmas wafer) to symbolize the gift of daily bread and exchange blessings for the upcoming year.

For those who may not know, Christmas Eve Supper is called Wigilia in Polish. It is commonly celebrated in Central, Northern, and Eastern European cultures, particularly in areas previously under the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and its neighboring countries. The non-meat Christmas Eve supper is a religious feast observed by many Catholics around the world.
This classic Christmas Eve meal consists of twelve unique dishes, all vegetarian with at least one or more containing fish. Each dish symbolizes one of the twelve Apostles, while the absence of meat signifies abstinence. Many believe that the events of Wigilia can influence the upcoming year.
What better way to ensure a positive year ahead than by celebrating with us at Kat’s Café and Restaurant for an unforgettable Christmas Eve Supper experience!
